Recently, Parami AI participated in Kids Discovery Day at Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP), creating an interactive technology experience for more than 70 children and teenagers from HKSTP employee families, as well as participants from Caritas and Po Leung Kuk.
At the Planet Action Venue, Parami AI brought four UBTECH UGOT robots to life through demonstrations, interactive challenges and hands-on activities.
Instead of simply watching from the sidelines, participants had the opportunity to interact with the robots and explore how they move, respond and complete different tasks. The experience turned technologies that can sometimes feel abstract — such as artificial intelligence, programming and robotics — into something participants could see and experience for themselves.
Children and teenagers enthusiastically joined the activities, experimenting with the robots and discovering different ways technology can be applied in the real world.
The event organisers later described the experience as an “eye-opener”, highlighting how exposure to technology and green innovation encouraged participants to think differently about the role innovation could play in shaping the future.
For younger participants in particular, an introduction to AI does not need to begin with complex technical concepts. Curiosity often starts with a simple question: “How does that work?”
Watching a robot react, controlling its movements or working through a challenge creates a natural starting point for understanding ideas such as programming, sensors, automation and problem-solving.
